Spiritual War: Life and Death situation for angels

Spirits can be killed just like flesh and blood. The proper term is ” being OFFed”. The energy that makes up the celestial body can be positive (Holy Angels and Holy Ghosts) or negative (fallen angels and converts). Death is ever present on either side of the spectrum; this is why Michael went to the aid of one of his angelic warriors that was battling a demonic prince; that angel had a job to perform, so Michael took his place. If death were not possible, then the holy angel would have simply went on his way instead of engaging in a battle that was meaningless; there would be no point in fighting if nothing could be gained from being victorious; it would simply be a show in mamre-swordsmanship. But because injury or death can result, the opposing forces fight fierce battles. Keep in mind that Dawn and his angels fought to try and remain in heaven; if fighting was futile, there would have been no point in battling it out in an effort to hold ground, which is what Dawn and his demons are always trying to do.
